I went to South Las Vegas Church yesterday, Wanderlei Silva was in his usual seat with his family, it was less than 24 hours after his knock out loss to Chris Leben, to say Wand is impressive is an understatement as a fighter and a man, he is dedicated to his craft and his faith, I could not help but wonder where he goes from here, I doubt he wants to retire, I doubt the UFC will want to keep fighting him, they might give him a fight or 2 to help him make some money and keep him from going to another organization, lets hope somebody in his corner gets apparences lined out for him, helps keep his gym membership strong and helps him build a fight team, Wand will need support from fans, he has done alot for the sport and its very easy to start hurting for money without big paydays especially in this econmony, I hope UFC will be able to offer him avenues to make money while he starts the transition into retirement, he turned 35 yesterday as well, Im sure he has a fight or 2 in him still if not more, the fight game is tuff, the fight buisness is tuff, I have seen the other side of fame and retirement and thats even harder than rising to the top believe it or not, a fighter devotes his whole life to the fight game, physically, mentally and spiritually and by the time you really get on your feet and established, retirement looms its ugly head, its not really fair but such is the fight game, most of the time we all give more than we receive, its neither wrong or right it just is, so if you are in Vegas go by his gym, take a class, buy a shirt, sponsor one of his fighters, if he fights buy a ticket weather you think he should be fighting or not, if a praying person throw a prayer up for him, he has giving his all to entertain us and be a world class athlete it wasnt easy and retirement wont be either.
